Meet Cheryl Taylor, Owner
Hammer & Stain East Michigan started with a love for creativity, community, and helping people feel proud of what they create.
After years of crafting and creating, Cheryl began teaching workshops in 2023 and quickly discovered something bigger than just DIY projects. She discovered how meaningful it was to bring people together through creativity.
What started as a mobile workshop experience throughout Michigan’s Thumb quickly grew into a permanent studio space in downtown Harbor Beach.
Today, Hammer & Stain East Michigan is more than a workshop studio. It’s a place where people gather, celebrate, unwind, try something new, and create memories alongside handmade projects.
Whether you’re walking in alone, bringing friends, celebrating something special, or simply trying something outside your comfort zone, you’re welcome here.
Mateo, Quality Control Manager
Now everybody knows that every successful business needs a great Quality Control Manager, and I am lucky to have one. Meet Mateo, the fluffiest Quality Control Manager in the history of DIY craft workshops. With a nose like a bloodhound and the heart of a teddy bear, Mateo ensures that the materials we use for our craft workshops get the paw of approval! Of course Mateo has been known to sleep on the job but we are working on that!
